Chapter Philanthropy

Welcome to Delta Eta’s philanthropy page! I am humbled and excited to represent the women of our chapter as Philanthropy Chairman for 2019.

My goals for this year are to continue to build upon the significance of philanthropy, to encourage our members to get more involved in service both in the community and on campus, and to provide a fun and memorable philanthropic experience for my sisters and our community. This includes having events and activities that promote driven involvement and participation from my sisters, our friends, fellow Greek members, parents, alumni, as well as those in the community.

At Delta Eta, we have three organizations that we partner with. The first being the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, second is Reading is Fundamental, and lastly, our chapter’s own selection, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. We are extremely proud to support these three amazing organizations, and want to do our part in raising money for these organizations that we so strongly believe in.

At the beginning of Fall 2018, Delta Eta voted to support NAMI as one of the organizations supported by our philanthropy outreach. NAMI is the nation’s largest mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for millions of Americans affected by mental illness. Our goal with this change is to open up dialogue on and around mental illness and place value in the importance of mental health and its effects. Our sisterhood is built upon the idea of caring for and being there for one another. We value the health and well-being of our sisters to ensure success in all we aspire to be and therefore, we believe this organization is a great asset to our philanthropic and chapter goals.

Our spring semester will include two events, an open house event as well as a team competition event. In the past, we have done Kappa Kupcake, Kappa Soup, and Kappa Klassic, a golf tournament. In the fall, we will be continuing our tradition of Kappa Gobble, an open house event where active Kappas bake pies together as a sisterhood activity which are then arranged buffet style for the community to enjoy. These delicious desserts are then eaten up by fraternities, parents, alumni, and friends! This event supports all three of our partnered organizations.

Throughout this year, I envision that we can share and spread our love for philanthropy more than ever before. I am so excited for this year and I speak for all of us when I say that we are thrilled to share our passion for serving others and making a positive impact on those all around us.

All the best,

Brooke Osborne
