Chapter Philanthropy

Delta Eta supports three incredible organizations: The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.

As members of Delta Eta, philanthropy is deeply woven into the values that shape our sisterhood and the way we support one another. The causes our chapter supports are not only important to Kappa Kappa Gamma nationally, but are also incredibly personal and meaningful within our own community. Through advocacy, education, fundraising, and open conversation, we strive to create an environment rooted in compassion, empathy, and genuine care for others.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness, National Eating Disorders Association, and Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation are philanthropies that mean so much to Delta Eta. These organizations bring light to the mental and physical battles experienced across generations, communities, and backgrounds. Their missions feel especially meaningful to our chapter because these challenges are so prevalent among college-aged women.

Mental health struggles and eating disorders are often invisible battles. Raising awareness and encouraging education surrounding these topics creates greater understanding, compassion, and empathy for those who may be struggling.

During my time in Kappa, I’ve learned so much about the importance of approaching these conversations with kindness and empathy. The most meaningful lesson I’ve learned is how powerful it can be to share that compassion with others. This support is contagious. It creates an environment where people feel safe sharing their experiences, seeking resources, and being a listening ear for someone else’s journey. I have been fortunate enough to receive this support from my sisters, while also having the opportunity to share that same support with others.

I am incredibly proud to be part of a chapter that not only advocates for mental health awareness and eating disorder support, but also strives to be a genuine source of encouragement, understanding, and community for those who need it most. Continuing to foster a future centered on accessible resources, transparency, unconditional support, and kindness is something Delta Eta continually strives to achieve.

With Love,

Ava Buzianis,
Chapter President

Throughout the year, Delta Eta hosts a variety of events that bring our members, campus community, and philanthropies together. During the fall semester, we celebrate traditions such as Kappa Gala and Kappa Carnival, while the spring semester features Kappa Krush and our annual philanthropy week. In addition to these larger events, our members are constantly finding new ways to support and raise awareness for the causes that matter most to our chapter through service, fundraising, and community involvement.
