New Member Program

The whirlwind of going through Recruitment, being extended a bid and then joining Kappa for life can be exciting and overwhelming at the same time. Kappa gives our new sisters a warm welcome by extending friendship and mutual support through our new member program.

The new member period is a time to learn about the Fraternity and educate women on the expectations and requirements of being a Kappa. Each new member is given a Big Sister to guide her through this new stage of her life. New members also attend a retreat to foster and develop the new friendships and connections within the chapter.

At Delta Eta, the new member experience is one of the most exciting and meaningful parts of joining Kappa Kappa Gamma. Beginning with Bid Day in late August, new members are welcomed into the chapter through a semester filled with friendship, traditions, and opportunities to grow closer with their pledge class and the chapter as a whole.

Throughout the new member period, members participate in a variety of activities and events designed to help them learn more about Kappa’s values, history, and sisterhood. Some of the most anticipated traditions include New Member Retreat, where new members spend time bonding and building friendships early in the semester, as well as Big/Little Reveal, where members are welcomed into their Kappa families. The semester concludes with initiation, an important milestone that marks the beginning of lifelong membership in Kappa Kappa Gamma.

From Bid Day celebrations and retreat weekends to reveal nights, sisterhood events, and initiation, the new member experience is filled with memorable moments that help create lasting friendships and a strong sense of belonging within Delta Eta.
